Joachim Hans | Bassoon

Joachim Hans studied under Karl-Otto Hartmann at Freiburg’s College of Music. Following positions in Karlsruhe and Essen, he has been principal bassoon with the Staatskapelle Dresden since 1996. During this time he has also performed as a soloist under the batons of Georges Prêtre and Sir Colin Davis. Since 1999 he has simultaneously held the position of principal bassoon with the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra. Furthermore Joachim Hans is a keen chamber musician, performing in various groups such as the Carus Ensemble Dresden, the Staatskapelle Wind Quintet as well as the Kammerharmonie Ensemble of the Staatskapelle Dresden.
