The New York Times heralded him »the hottest artist on the classical music planet«, and indeed following his debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1999 Lang Lang has perhaps enjoyed a greater degree of attention than any other artist in the history of classical music. In the meantime he has performed with all the world’s great orchestras and conductors, while thousands of enthusiastic music-lovers regularly flock to his open air concerts. Many of his CDs have climbed the international pop charts, and he has collaborated on the soundtracks of several international movies. Over the past years he has appeared with the Staatskapelle a number of times, most recently in the 2009/2010 season both in Dresden and on tour. Now he will return at the invitation of the orchestra to perform a piano recital in the Semperoper.
