Few young artists enjoy such wide acclaim as the youthful Georgian violinist Lisa Batiashvili, who regularly performs with top European and American orchestras and has been a guest musician at the Schleswig-Holstein, Salzburg, Edinburgh, Marlboro and Tanglewood festivals. Her commitment to contemporary music is made clear by the three world premieres she has performed over the last few years, including the Violin Concerto by Magnus Lindberg recorded for Sony Music. Lisa Batiashvili first came to international attention in 1995 when, as the youngest participant at only 16 years of age, she won 2nd prize at the Sibelius Competition in Helsinki. Since then she has been showered with numerous accolades, including a MIDEM Classical Award and an ECHO Klassik Prize.
