Ulrike Scobel | Violin

Ulrike Scobel studied violin under Reinhard Ulbricht at Dresden’s Carl Maria von Weber College of Music. After playing with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra for several years, today she is a Staatskapelle musician, supporting the second violin group. In addition to her orchestral duties Ulrike Scobel is a specialist in period performance, in particular the chamber music of the 16th to 18th centuries. She performs with two early music ensembles, the Academy for Early Music in Berlin and Dresden’s Cappella Sagittariana. As a soloist her preferred instrument is the rarely heard viola d’amore.
