Tales of Destiny on Palm Sunday

Anton Bruckner’s Fifth Symphony is popularly called the »Tragic«, and this is a work into which the composer – at the time striving for recognition – invested all his skills and energy, particularly in the impressive finale. By contrast, Johannes Brahms composed his »Schicksalslied« (Song of Destiny) shortly after finding fame in 1868 with his »German Requiem«. Herbert Blomstedt will now perform both these works at this year’s Palm Sunday Concert.
