New DVD

Just in time with Franz Liszt's upcoming 200. Birthday, the Staatskapelle Dresden releases a new DVD of a recording of the »Faust«-programme in February 2011. Christian Thielemann conducted Franz Liszt's »Faust«-symphony as well as Richard Wagner's »Faust«-overture.
The DVD will be available from October 24, 2011.

Composer in Residence

In the season 2011/2012 the Russian-American composer Lera Auerbach will be the new Composer-in-Residence of the Staatskapelle Dresden. 

Welcome to the 2011/2012 season, when once again the Staatskapelle Dresden welcomes some fantastic conductors and soloists. Our audiences can look forward to such great names as our future principal conductor Christian Thielemann, our conductor laureate Sir Colin Davis, as well as Herbert Blomstedt, Georges Prêtre and Kirill Petrenko. The list of star soloists includes Lang Lang, Nikolaj Znaider, Anna Netrebko, Janine Jansen, Jonathan Biss, Julia Fischer and Truls Mørk.

Artist in Residence

Following Rudolf Buchbinder, the violinist and conductor Nicolaj Znaider will be the second Artist-in-Residence and perform in diverse projects with the Staatskapelle Dresden.
