Johanna Mittag

Johanna Mittag was born in Radebeul near Dresden. She received her first violin lessons at the age of five. After attending the Special School for Music in Dresden, she studied with Karl Unger at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden and was meanwhile already playing as a substitute in the Sächsische Staatskapelle, where she was hired as a permanent member in 1984.

Johanna Mittag has been a member of the »Virtuosi Saxoniae« since 1989. In her free time, she has been actively involved in the visual arts for many years. Numerous of her works have been presented with great success in the context of extensive exhibition activities.
