Zsuzsanna Schmidt-Antal

 Born in Hungary in 1969, Zsuzsanna Schmidt-Antal started violin lessons at age seven and switched to the viola six years later. She studied music at the University of Music in Budapest/Szeged from 1988 to 1993, then continued her education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz until 1998.

 

Her first orchestral engagement was as principal violist in the Graz Symphony Orchestra; she also played as principal violist in the opera orchestra of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. In January 2000, Zsuzsanna Schmidt-Antal began postgraduate studies at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden in Sebastian Herberg's class. She has been a member of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden since 2001.
