Nils Kochskämper

Nils Kochskämper was born in Varel in 1998 and received his first drum lessons at the age of 5. He gained his first chamber music experience as part of the He gained his first chamber music experience as part of the successful percussion ensemble Schlagwerk Nordwest. During his bachelor's studies at the University of Music, Drama and Media in Hanover with Prof. Andreas Boettger and Erich Trog, he gained further valuable experience in orchestral playing as a scholarship holder at the Giuseppe Sinopoli Academy of the Staatskapelle Dresden.

Nils Kochskämper is currently pursuing his master's degree at the Zurich University of the Arts with Prof. Klaus Schwärzler and Prof. Benjamin Forster. From 2022 to 2025, he was principal timpanist with the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra.
