Markus Czieharz

Markus Czieharz, born in 1995, received his musical training at the music academies in Munich, Karlsruhe, and Hanover. His teachers included Professors Hannes Läubin, Reinhold Friedrich, and Jeroen Berwaerts, as well as his father Siegfried Czieharz, who taught him to play the trumpet when he was five years old.

Awarded several prizes at international competitions, he was a scholarship holder of the Mozart Society Dortmund, the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe, the Kurt Alten Foundation, and a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Chamber music occupies a special place in Markus Czieharz's work. He is a member of various ensembles such as the Alma Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Salaputia Brass, with whom he gives concerts throughout Europe and regularly produces recordings. He has also performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Bremen Philharmonic, the Stuttgart Philharmonic, and the Classical Philharmonic Bonn.

He is a sought-after guest with the orchestras of the BR, WDR, HR, NDR, and RBB radio stations, the Munich Philharmonic, the Bavarian State Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony, and the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra, and was engaged by the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra from 2021 to 2024.

Markus Czieharz has been principal trumpeter of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden since 2024.
