Hannes Schirlitz

Hannes Schirlitz was born in Dresden in 1983. At the age of ten, he received his first bassoon lessons from Harald Schurig (Landesbühnen Sachsen). In 1998, Hannes Schirlitz was accepted into the Carl Maria von Weber Special School of Music in Dresden and received lessons in the class of Bernhardt Rose (Staatskapelle Dresden).

In 2002, he continued his training at the music academy of the same name in his hometown. In September 2003, Hannes Schirlitz was engaged as principal bassoonist at the Landesbühnen Sachsen. He has been a member of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden since August 2005 and its principal contrabassoonist since the 2015/2016 season.
