Harald Heim

Harald Heim was born in Beckum in 1969. He studied music at the Cologne University of Music under Erich Penzel from 1990 to 1995. During his studies, he received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation from 1993 to 1995.

Harald Heim gained his first orchestral experience in various youth orchestras, including the “Junge Deutsche Philharmonie”, the “European Union Youth Orchestra”, and the “Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra”.

Before joining the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden in 1996, he was deputy principal hornist with the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin during the 1995/96 season. In addition, Harald Heim has been a member of the Dresdner Kapellsolisten since 1997, with whom he has toured internationally and also made regular solo appearances.

In his spare time, Harald Heim is an enthusiastic photographer and carpenter.
