Jens-Jörg Becker

Jens-Jörg Becker received his first instrumental lessons at the age of six and won prizes at the “Jugend musiziert” competition. He completed his studies under Robert Dohn in Stuttgart and Andreas Blau in Berlin. Furthermore, he was a scholarship holder of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.

Jens-Jörg Becker was flutist with the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra Reutlingen in the 1992/93 season and principal piccolo with the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra in 1993/94. Since fall 1994, he has been principal piccolo with the Staatskapelle Dresden. He is also a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.
 

 Becker performs as a soloist primarily in southern Germany, Alsace, at the Usedom Summer Festival, at the East Frisia Music Summer Festival, with the Dresden State Orchestra, the New Elbland Philharmonic Orchestra Riesa, with the Dresden Kapellsolisten, and with the Virtuosae Saxoniae. He is also the founder of the Allegria Ensemble Dresden.

Jens-Jörg Becker is also a lecturer at the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory and the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden, as well as a woodwind instructor for the Saxony State Youth Orchestra.
