Marie-Luise Kahle

Marie-Luise Kahle was born in the Ore Mountains in 1992, where she received her first horn lessons from Uwe Legler at the age of 9. From 2009 to 2011, she attended the Saxon State Gymnasium for Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden to deepen her musical knowledge for her intended music studies, where she was taught by Prof. Robert Langbein. She then studied horn as her main subject at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden under Prof. Robert Langbein. During this time, Marie-Luise completed several master classes to develop her horn playing skills. Prof. Christian-Friedrich Dallmann, Prof. Raimund Zell, Prof. Frøydis Ree Wekre, and Prof. Arthur Erich Penzel made a particular impression on her. In 2018, she successfully completed her studies with a master's degree. While still studying for her bachelor's degree, Marie-Luise Kahle was engaged as a horn player at the Giuseppe Sinopoli Academy of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, which gave her the opportunity to become more familiar with the special sound of the orchestra. After this instructive experience, she played as a horn player at the Staatsoperette Dresden from 2014 to 2019.

Marie-Luise Kahle has been a member of the horn section of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden since the 2019 season. In addition, she is very active in both chamber music and solo performances. Marie-Luise can be heard throughout Germany in the chamber music evenings of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden and “Ohne Frack auf Tour” (Without Tailcoats on Tour), as well as in brass ensembles at a wide variety of events, including with the Dresden Kreuzchor. As a soloist, she has performed in a wide variety of solo concerts, for example with the MDR Symphony Orchestra and the Elbland Philharmonic Saxony.
