Nicolas Naudot

Nicolas Naudot, born in Harfleur, France, in 1981, received his first trombone lessons in his home country. From 1996 to 2003, he studied first at the Rouen Conservatory, then at the Paris Conservatory, both under Jacques Mauger. This was followed by studies at the Issy les Moulineaux Conservatory under Patrick Hanss and at the Conservatory of the 15th arrondissement of Paris under David Macquet. Finally, he transferred to the Freiburg University of Music, where he studied under Branimir Slokar from 2003 to 2008.

Nicolas Naudot has won numerous competitions: in 1997 he won second prize at the National Trombone Competition in France, in 2001 first prize at the Leopold Bellan Competition, in 2002 first prize at the Carl Seemann Competition, and in 2006 second prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition in Berlin.

Nicolas Naudot's first orchestral engagement was with the Orchestre national d'Ile de France ONIF in 2002. During his music studies, he also played as a substitute in many orchestras, including the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden and Freiburg, and the Hamburg State Opera. In the 2006/2007 season, he performed as principal trombonist at the Frankfurt Opera, and in 2008/2009 as a guest with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Nicolas Naudot has been principal trombonist with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden since 2008.

He has also been a member of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra since 2005 and a permanent member of the Ludwig Güttler Brass Ensemble and Virtuosi Saxionae since 2008. In addition, he is a lecturer at the Pacific Music Festival Sapporo in Japan in 2010.
