Rozália Szabó

Rozália Szabó was born in Abony (Hungary) and began playing the flute at the age of seven.

After graduating, she studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest under Lóránt Kovác and János Bálint, and then at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart under Jean-Claude Gérard. Rozália Szabó developed her international stage presence while still a student, winning second prize at both the International Jean-Pierre Rampal Competition in Paris in 1998 and the International ARD Competition in Munich in 2000.

Rosália Szabó is a sought-after soloist of the younger generation who has always made a name for herself with unusual repertoire.

She has performed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden, with whom she performed André Jolivet's flute concerto at the Semperoper in 2007. In October 2008, she performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's flute concertos as part of the Mozart cycle at Villa Hügel in Essen.

Rozália Szabó has been principal flutist of the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden since 2002.

Music festivals such as Fürstensaal Classix in Kempten, Movimentos in Wolfsburg, and the St. Gallen Music Festival in Austria are at the forefront of her diverse commitment to chamber music, which she cultivates with dedication. Such projects regularly take her to her native Hungary, but also to France, Russia, Macedonia, and Switzerland.
