Uwe Voigt

Uwe Voigt was born in Dresden in 1963 and received his first instrumental lessons at the age of 11. Between 1981 and 1984, he studied at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden. Barely a year later, the Dresden Philharmonic hired him as its principal trombonist. In 1990, he moved to the Saxon State Orchestra in Dresden, where he was named chamber virtuoso eight years later. Uwe Voigt has been teaching at the Musikhochschule in Dresden since 1995.
