Mechthild von Ryssel

Mechthild von Ryssel, in Dahme in einem musikalischen Elternhaus geboren, erhielt ihren ersten Violinunterricht mit fünf Jahren in Görlitz bei Helmut Frenzel, später bei Maria Frenzel. Von der 7. Klasse an wurde sie an der Spezialschule für Musik Dresden bei Uta Maria Frenzel unterrichtet. Ihr Musikstudium absolvierte sie von 1980 bis 1986  an der Hochschule für Musik bei Reinhard Ulbricht, ebenfalls in Dresden.

Ihr erstes Orchesterengagement führte sie im Jahr 1986 als Vorspielerin der 1.Violinen zur Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie Chemnitz. Seit 1994 spielt Mechthild von Ryssel in der Gruppe der 2. Violinen der Staatskapelle Dresden.

Darüber hinaus ist Mechthild von Ryssel Mitglied zahlreicher Kammermusikensembles und Kammerorchester: so z.B. seit 1996 bei den Dresdner Kapellsolisten und seit 2006 bei Capella Musica, mit denen sie zahlreiche Auftritte im In- und Ausland absolviert.

Born in 1974, Michael Horwath took violin lessons in his hometown of Berlin before going on to study viola under Felix Schwartz at the city’s “Hanns Eisler” Academy of Music. In 1998 he continued his training with Erich Krüger in Weimar, where he also completed postgraduate studies.

Michael Horwath joined the Staatskapelle Dresden August 2000, and since 2004 has held the position of Vorspieler of the violas.

He has participated in numerous international master classes given by Kim Kashkashian, Jürgen Kussmaul, Thomas Riebl and Norbert Brainin.

 

 

 

 

Furthermore, he is a passionate performer of chamber music and a regular guest at international chamber music festivals such as the Concerts aux Iles du Bic in Canada.

Michael Horwath is a member of the Dresden String Quintet and the ensemble frauenkirche. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the Semperoper Dresden, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, at the Schwetzingen Festival and the Kölner Philharmonie.

Born in Dresden in 1975, Thomas Eberhardt’s career in music began with violin lessons at the age of six. Later he switched to the bassoon, receiving tuition from Bernhard Rose first at Dresden’s Music School and later as a student at the city’s College of Music. He also studied under Eberhard Marschall at Munich’s College of Music.

In 2000 he was engaged by the Bavarian State Orchestra in Munich. In the meantime he has toured with diverse ensembles throughout Europe as well as to North America, Japan, China and Korea. Thomas Eberhardt has been principal bassoon of the Staatskapelle Dresden since 2004.
