Sabine Kittel

Principal Flute

At the age of ten Sabine Kittel started her flute education at the music school in Erfurt. From 1985 until 1991 she studied at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with Johannes Walter. From 1991 until 1994 she finished Masterclass studies with Paul Meißen at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich. Furthermore she complemented her education with Masterclasses with Aurèle Nicolet.

Sabine Kittel is a laureate of many competitions. In 1991 she won the first price of the Carl Maria von Weber Competition in Munich, in 1994 the second price at the International Music Competition in Budapest and in 1995 also the second price at the International ARD Competition in Munich as well as the Brüder-Busch Price.

Before Sabine Kittel came to the Staatskapelle Dresden she was solo flutist at the Dresdner Philharmonie from 1992 until 2000. Since August 2000 she holds the same position at the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. In 2008 she founded the Ensemble Bento and is performing as soloist and chamber musician in different settings in many European countries as well as in Japan.

Anke Heyn

Ihr Musikstudium absolvierte Anke Heyn bei Martin Ostertag in Karlsruhe und Jens Peter Maintz in Berlin. Sie erhielt verschiedene Auszeichnungen und Preise bei zahlreichen Wettbewerben, u.a. bei »Jugend musiziert«, dem Tonkünstlerwettbewerb sowie dem Kammermusikwettbewerb der Alice-Samter-Stiftung in Berlin. Ebenso war sie Finalistin beim Deutschen Musikwettbewerb in Bonn. Darüber hinaus war Anke Heyn Stipendiatin der Jürgen-Ponto-Stiftung, der Villa musica und der Landessammlung für Streichinstrumente Baden-Württemberg.

Erste Orchestererfahrung sammelte Anke Heyn im Bundesjugendorchester, im Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchester sowie im European Union Youth Orchestra. Nach einem Praktikum beim SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg hatte sie einen Jahresvertrag bei den Münchner Philharmonikern und war häufige Aushilfe beim DSO Berlin. Seit April 2006 ist sie festes Mitglied der Sächsischen Staatskapelle Dresden.
 
Ihre große Begeisterung gilt seit langem der Kammermusik: Sie konzertierte als Solocellistin vom Ensemble Oriol Berlin und der Kammerakademie Potsdam. Neben ihrer Orchestertätigkeit in der Staatskapelle Dresden  ist sie als Mitglied der Dresden Group und des Ensemble Bento in verschiedenen Formationen zu hören.

Paul Rivinius

Pianist Paul Rivinius, born in 1970, received his first piano lessons at the age of five. His teachers were first Gustaf Grosch in Munich, later Alexander Sellier, Walter Blankenheim and Nerine Barrett at the Musikhochschule in Saarbrücken. After graduating from high school he also studied horn with Marie-Luise Neunecker at the Frankfurt Musikhochschule and continued his piano studies with Raymund Havenith. In 1994 he was accepted into Gerhard Oppitz’s master class at the Musikhochschule in Munich, which he completed with honours in 1998. Paul Rivinius was for a long time member of the Bundesjugendorchester and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he won several prizes with the Clemente Trio, founded in 1986, for example at the renowned ARD Music Competition in Munich in 1998 and subsequently performed as the »Rising Star« ensemble in the world’s ten most important concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York and Wigmore Hall in London.

Paul Rivinius also plays in the Rivinius Piano Quartet together with his brothers Benjamin, Gustav and Siegfried. Since 2004 he has also been pianist of the Mozart Piano Quartet, which has gained international reputation through extensive tours in North and South America and Asia. In 2018 the Mozart Piano Quartet received the »Opus Klassik« for the recording of Georg Hendrik Witte’s Piano Quartet for MDG Dabringhaus & Grimm. Paul Rivinius was part of numerous radio and CD productions with cellists Julian Steckel, Johannes Moser and with the Swedish soprano Camilla Tilling to name a few. Paul Rivinius taught for many years as professor of chamber music at the »Hanns Eisler« Academy of Music in Berlin and lives now in Munich.
